Is my solar warranty still valid if my installer went bankrupt?
Yes, in most cases. Your equipment manufacturer warranty is completely separate from your installer warranty. Panel manufacturers like LG, Panasonic, and Q CELLS and inverter manufacturers like Enphase, SolarEdge, and SMA all honor their product warranties regardless of what happened to your installer. AllSolar Energy works directly with manufacturers to pursue warranty claims on your behalf at no extra charge when we perform the repair.
What happened to Sunnova customers after the June 2025 bankruptcy?
Sunnova filed for Chapter 11 in June 2025 with over $10 billion in debt. If you have a Sunnova lease or power purchase agreement, your servicing has been transferred to SunStrong Management. If you own your system outright with a loan, you can hire any qualified solar service company. AllSolar Energy can inspect and service your system regardless of who financed or installed it. What happened to Solar Mosaic customers after the June 2025 bankruptcy?
Solar Mosaic filed for Chapter 11 in June 2025. Mosaic was a lending company, not an installer, so they financed solar systems for homeowners. If Mosaic financed your system your loan obligation may transfer to another servicer. Your solar system itself is unaffected by the Mosaic bankruptcy. Why did so many solar companies go out of business in 2024 and 2025?
The solar industry saw over 100 bankruptcies in 2024 alone, the most in nearly 20 years of industry data. The primary causes were rising interest rates, California's NEM 3.0 net metering changes that reduced system economics, federal policy and incentive uncertainty, and years of aggressive dealer-driven sales that left companies overextended. For Florida homeowners the impact has been severe, with dozens of companies that were actively installing in our state now gone.
